Kyle A. Bohannon
President & Chief Executive Officer
Kyle previously served as the President of FastMed Urgent Care after joining the company in 2010. Under Kyle’s leadership, FastMed expanded from nine to more than 100 clinics in just four years, with more than one million patients treated annually. In addition to FastMed’s multi-state organic growth initiative, Kyle has led multiple acquisitions, including Texan Urgent Care, Carolina Quick Care, Advanced Urgent Care, Urgent Care Express, Urgent Cares of America and the sale of FastMed to leading private equity firm ABRY Partners.
Throughout his career, Kyle has held leadership positions in the healthcare, private equity and investment banking sectors, with responsibilities including operations, mergers and acquisitions and strategic partnerships. Kyle spent multiple years in the private equity industry with HarbourVest Partners, LLC in both Europe and the United States. Upon joining HarbourVest's Boston-based direct investment group, Kyle relocated to London to help establish the firm's international direct investment team. His leadership responsibilities included identifying and managing leveraged buyout and growth equity investments and teams across multiple industries.
Earlier in his career, Kyle spent several years in the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley, where he focused on both mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Kyle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Amherst College, where he was a four-year member of the men's varsity lacrosse team.
In addition to serving as executive sponsor of FastMed Cares, the company’s philanthropic committee, Kyle is active in the community with Special Olympics and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training.
Christopher M. Bird
Chief Operating Officer
Chris previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of Tenet Healthcare-owned Phoenix Baptist Hospital and Arizona Heart Hospital. Prior to joining Tenet, Chris was the CEO of ReachOut Healthcare America, the largest national provider of administrative support services to affiliated dentists in the mobile dental industry with operations in 24 states. Chris also served as President of RehabCare, the largest contract therapy services company in the U.S. with $1.3 billion in annual revenue and 20,000 employees throughout 2,000 hospitals and skilled nursing facilities spanning 46 states. Earlier in his career, Chris served as Vice President of Operations, Outpatient Services Division with Tenet Healthcare and as Western Divisional Vice President for DaVita HealthCare Partners.
Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University, a Master of Public Health with a Health Policy and Management concentration from Columbia University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University.
Carrie A. Demery
Senior Vice President, Operations
Carrie previously served as Vice President of Operations in Arizona since the completion of the Advanced Urgent Care acquisition in 2014. With 27 years of experience in the healthcare sector, Carrie has developed an impressive background in the urgent care industry. She also gained significant experience in curriculum development during her tenure as Director of Allied Medical Programs for Kaplan University. Carrie holds leadership responsibility for patient services, operations, training programs, financial performance and administration throughout the Arizona and Texas urgent care clinic portfolios. Carrie successfully led the FastMed Arizona and Texas clinic integrations.
Carrie is a graduate of the Pacific College of Nursing. She also earned teaching credentials for Allied Healthcare from the State of California.
Sekhar Kommu, MD
National Chief Medical Officer
Sekhar Kommu, MD joined FastMed in 2011 and serves as the national Chief Medical Officer, Regional Medical Director and Director of Quality Assurance and Education. With extensive experience as a practitioner for private family practice groups, he has held numerous leadership roles, including Medical Director of the Non-Veterans Administration Care Program at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Program Director of the Methodist University Physician Assistant Program.
Dr. Kommu is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and North Carolina Medical Society. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Austin College and Medical Degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.
Brittany R. Loisel
Executive Vice President, Strategy
Brittany joined FastMed in 2011 and previously served as Vice President of Finance and Strategy. With an extensive background in the urgent care industry, Brittany began her career with NextCare Urgent Care after having served as a Player Development intern with the New York Giants. She holds leadership responsibility for internal and external strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, multi-departmental projects, provider credentialing and business reporting.
Brittany received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Rutgers University, where she was a four-year member of the women’s varsity softball team.
Robert F. Oliveri
Chief Financial Officer
Rob has held numerous financial leadership positions in his more than 20 years in the accounting and finance fields. His previous experience includes predominantly public accounting and developmental stage companies, for which he helped ensure the organizations’ financial stability, procured both debt and equity capital from leading institutional lending and private equity firms and assisted in company expansion. Rob’s duties at FastMed include the management of all accounting and finance functions. He is responsible for providing internal and external reporting to the Board of Directors and management team.
Prior to joining FastMed, Rob served as the Chief Financial Officer of NextCare Holdings, Inc. Rob began his career in public accounting at the New York office of Deloitte LLP. He earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from St. Francis College and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Phoenix.
A gold medalist at the Pan Am and Goodwill Games in karate, Rob teaches karate to children and adults through a non-profit center, in addition to coaching his children’s flag football teams.
Jessica D. Pendola
Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Administrative Officer
Jessica has held numerous healthcare compliance leadership positions throughout her career, including Associate Compliance Officer for Duke University Health System and Compliance Educator for OhioHealth. Jessica joined the company in 2012 and immediately led the initiative to position FastMed as the first and largest non-hospital based urgent care group to obtain The Joint Commission Ambulatory Care System Accreditation distinction.
Jessica earned both a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in management from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
Jan G. Pickett, FNP-BC
Senior Vice President of Operations, North Carolina
Jan previously served as Vice President of Provider Relations for Western North Carolina and has been a practicing board certified family nurse practitioner (“FNP”) at FastMed since joining the organization in 2012. She has also served as a Practice Manager with FastMed in Charlotte and Statesville.
Jan has 35 years of medical experience specializing in emergency medicine, urgent care and occupational medicine and is certified in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Prior to joining FastMed, Jan was a clinic provider at Concentra. She previously served as a co-owner and FNP at ReGen, PLLC, providing inpatient and outpatient management of complex wounds and hyperbaric treatments.
Jan is a Lieutenant Colonel with the United States Air Force Reserves (“USAF”) and will retire in April 2016 with 25 years of military service. She transferred to the USAF from the North Carolina Air National Guard, where she was a flight nurse for 22 years. Jan earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University.
Jeffrey B. Rosenthal
Senior Vice President, Technology
Jeffrey previously served as Chief Information Officer for LMI Solutions. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions in the real estate, security, consulting and education sectors, specializing in IT infrastructure, security, software development, project management and governance. Jeffrey also served as Director of IT with IDT911, Director of Technology Infrastructure and Information Systems with Tempe Union High School District, Director of IT Infrastructure with Carrington Colleges Group and Corporate Director of IT with Apollo College.
Jeffrey received his Master of Business Administration from University of Arizona and Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications from Michigan State University. He serves as an Advisory Board member for Gateway Academy, a K-12 primary school for children with Asperger's Syndrome.
