FastMed’s Alesha LePierre to Help Woman and Children Though Mustard Seed Communities

Meet Alesha LePierre. She is a medical assistant at FastMed Urgent Care in Concord, NC. Alesha has been given the amazing opportunity to travel to Nicaragua in February 2015 on a mission trip through the Mustard Seed Communities organization.

While on her trip, Alesha and her team will live and work at a newly opened home called Diriamba, which is located just outside of the town of Managua. The home is an orphanage that cares for abandoned children with disabilities. Alesha and her team have a goal of making the home a better place for the children to live. They will work to achieve this goal by caring for and interacting with the children, as well as performing tasks and projects.

Alesha’s team will also have the opportunity to take part in the Christ in the Garabe Ministry. In La Chureca, many people live in garbage dumps. The Mustard Seed Communities has established a sewing and baking center for the women there to be able to provide for their families. This enables the women to learn a trade and earn revenue.

Alesha is very aware of the challenges of this trip. There is will intense heat and poor living situations, even for the volunteers. However, Alesha believes that prayer, selfless acts and making a difference, will make the trip well worth it! She has set a goal to raise $2100 for her trip. All prayers, well wishes and support are greatly appreciated.
