From Clayton to Peru: 2nd Generation FastMed Family Volunteers Overseas

Joy Guha, daughter of Dr. Wanda Godfrey at FastMed Urgent Care in Clayton and Garner, was part of the international Volunteer HQ medical clinics in Cusco, Peru this summer.

Joy is a second generation overseas volunteer, as Dr. Wanda Godfrey abroad, including in Sierra Leone during the 1980s. Godfrey, a family physician at the FastMed Urgent Care clinics in Garner and Clayton, is very proud of her daughter.

Joy is attending NC State University in the fall, with a concentration in biology studies and hopes to pursue a calling in healthcare but plans on returning to Peru as a volunteer because of the life changing experience.
