Seasonal Allergies

Seasonal allergies, also referred to as ‘hay fever’, are a short-term inflammation of the mucus membranes that line the nasal passages. Seasonal allergies typically come on the during the spring and fall when certain trees or grass pollinate. Pollen or mold spores enter the body through the eyes, nose or throat and trigger an allergic reaction. Allergy symptoms can begin five to ten minutes after exposure to the allergen.

Seasonal allergies can cause a runny nose, itchy eyes, sore throat and congestion. At FastMed Urgent Care, our doctors can recommend a variety of over the counter medication and they may also need to write a  prescription in some cases.
