So, you’re craving a sweet, cakelike chocolate dessert, but you don’t eat gluten. Well, all you have to do is whip up a quick and easy batch of these delicious brownies. Instead of using flour, these brownies are made with canned black beans. Sound gross? Well, you’ll have to try it to believe it, because these brownies are practically indistinguishable from those gluten-filled ones you can buy at any bakery. Your friends will never be able to guess your secret ingredient!
What You Need
1 can (15.5 oz.) black beans
3 eggs
3 Tbsp. olive oil
¾ cup sugar
½ cup gluten-free mini chocolate chips
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
What to Do
- Drain and rinse the black beans. Add the beans, eggs, olive oil, sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, baking powder, and salt into a blender or food processor.
- Blend the ingredients until smooth. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×9 square baking dish (use a smaller dish for taller brownies). Let the mixture stand for ten minutes at room temperature. Pour the chocolate chips on top.
- Bake the brownies at 350° for thirty minutes. Insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, your brownies are ready!
