Strep throat is a bacterial infection that affects the back of the throat. Strep throat can only be diagnosed by a doctor after taking a strep culture or rapid stress test. What does strep throat virus look like? You will see little dots of red, similar to strawberry skin, that are on the soft or hard palate.
