FastMed Urgent Care launches “Rebates for Education” program for area schools and other organizations; offers discounted student physicals

Schools and scouts receive $5 rebate for every student physical at FastMed Urgent Cares

RALEIGH, N.C., August 15, 2011 – FastMed Urgent Care today launched Rebates for Education, which provides a $5.00 rebate for student physicals for schools and scouting programs in North Carolina and Arizona communities served by a FastMed clinic (see list of towns below).  As part of the launch, FastMed is also providing a deep discount of just $10 for all physicals between now and September 30, 2011 at new locations open in North Carolina in 2011.

When parents take their child to FastMed for a discounted school/sports physical, they will receive a $5.00 rebate that they in turn designate to the school or scouting program of their choice.  There is no limit or cap on the amount of money a school or organization can receive.

“The FastMed Rebates for Education program reflects our commitment to the communities we serve,” said Michael P. Dunn, MD, Chief Medical Officer for FastMed Urgent Care – Arizona. “This is a great opportunity for schools and area scouting program to receive additional money to defer program costs, which is particularly important during these challenging economic times.”

The Rebates for Education program is another building block in FastMed’s growing commitment to supporting education in the communities served by the urgent care group.  Last month, FastMed launched its Keep Cooler program that continues to provide area schools and other organized sports teams with free five gallon Igloo water coolers to promote healthy hydration, which is particularly important in the hotter months.

“We are very excited about the Rebates for Education program because we think it has the potential to really help schools and scouting programs that are so important to our youth, our families and our overall community,” said Jason A. Williams, MPAS, Ph.D., President and CEO, Eastern Region, FastMed Urgent Care. “Taking what we do best and in turn supporting schools in what they do best is a win-win for everyone in the community.”

The communities where FastMed is focusing the Rebates for Education Program are in:
