New Rocky Mount FastMed Provides First 100 Patients $5 Flu Shots
October 2, Clayton, NC – FastMed Urgent Care in Rocky Mount will open its doors to patients October 5 with an open house from 11 am to 3 pm. FastMed’s newest location is the site of the former Blockbuster Video location off Sunset Avenue and South Wesleyan Boulevard (301) in Rocky Mount. Renovated to provide urgent care services, FastMed will be open 365 days a year, and will join Office Depot, O’Reilly Auto Parks and Capital Ford Lincoln Mercury of Rocky Mount in serving residents of Rocky Mount. Rocky Mount’s clinic will be FastMed’s 35th location in North Carolina.
“With the fall flu season starting early and strep throat activity increasing, FastMed’s Rocky Mount urgent care is opening just in time to receive your seasonal flu shot and we offer rapid same day strep tests onsite at our clinic,” said Jason A. Starting opening day, FastMed will offer Rocky Mount residents their flu shot for $5, up to 100 patients, as a special promotion to mark FastMed’s opening and as part of the FastMed’s “This Fall Go Flu-Less” campaign.
FastMed clinical staff will also provide blood pressure checks, tours of the new urgent care clinic, and will answer questions.
If you miss FastMed’s opening October 5, the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting FastMed’s Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting luncheon on Thursday, October 8 from 11 am to 1 pm. The ribbon cutting ceremony starts at 12 noon. Guests will be treated to lunch, a background on FastMed’s history in North Carolina, its mission to patients in each community FastMed clinics are located, and special programs and services offered by FastMed geared to delighting FastMed patients when treated at the clinic.
FastMed Urgent Care will offer 7 day-a-week walk-in treatment with services including:
- Vaccinations and flu shots for adults and children
- Treatment of mild to moderate illness
- Injuries and orthopedics
- Medical procedures such as sutures / stitches, cyst removal, incision / drainage and splinting
- Onsite digital X-rays for injuries
- Phlebotomy services
- Physicals for children and adults
FastMed’s scope of treatment includes: flu and fevers, Bronchitis, coughs or colds, sore throat and strep throat, urinary tract infections, allergic reactions, sinus infections, Conjunctivitis (pink eye and eye infections), ear infections, hives and skin rashes and much more.
