Tommy W. Laird, PA-C, brings in-depth emergency medicine experience to his latest role at FastMed. Much of this experience lies within the urgent care category. Since joining FastMed in 2011, Tommy has served as an emergency medicine physician assistant (PA), while also overseeing provider relations—a responsibility he will maintain as he assumes his new role as Senior Vice President, Operations.
Before joining FastMed, Tommy worked as an emergency medicine PA at several urgent care and emergency care centers in Texas. Prior to that, he served as a medic in the U.S. Army, where he eventually achieved the rank of senior physician assistant while stationed in Iraq. His distinguished military service resulted in numerous medals, including a Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM) 7th Award.
Tommy’s education background includes a Master of Assistant Physician Studies, with a specialization in Family Medicine, and faculty positions at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, and Texas Tech University, Midland, Texas. This impressive background has left him well qualified for his new role running the frontline operations for FastMed’s Texas clinics.
